Pier 1 stuff

The Pier 1 in the next town closed down and that store manager has come to work for me. It was a smaller volume store so she's getting used to how we do things. She was/is a good friend so it's hard to think of her as my employee. When I leave Augusta(not soon enough) she'll take over my store. I opened this store...it's my baby. I often get angry a Pier 1, the company, but I love my store. I love moving furniture and setting displays and getting dirty. There's nothing like going into my store by myself in the quiet of the morning. I can get so much done. That's why I can probably never leave Pier 1. :) I threaten, but I love it. I say I'll go to Pottery Barn or Crate & Barrel, but I just don't know if I could. And I love my fellow managers in my region. 2 of my best friends are store managers...the one trained me. Greg helped make me the manager I am today. He was soooo hard on me. The other manager is the person I trained. Sara is probably one of the nicest people on the planet. I know I was hard on her, but I think she's a better manager for it...she had the bones, she just needed a push.
